Replay of South African trip rekindles joy in hearts of audience
But does “AIDS” mean only one treatment?
Oprah visited South Africa about two years ago, and celebrated Christmas by rerunning the segment this Christmas Day.
She gave clothes to poor children there, who were quite transformed by the simple gifts, which were the only decent costume they had had for quite a while, if ever. The joy that broke out in the hall was ecstatic. Children ran to hug Oprah and say “I love you Oprah”. “I love you too”, Oprah replied. She also handed out each child a box with packaged food for a month. Afterwards she broke out in loud sobs, as she walked away from the event.

She then visited the home of a (soon to be) AIDS orphan and then went with her to the mother lying in the hospital, hollow eyed, one eye grotesquely larger than the other, with “AIDS”, although the public hospital had no drugs to treat her, because the government had not provided any, the black doctor explained to Oprah.
Oprah broke down at this and cried in public, sobbing “I don’t understand it. I don’t understand it.” When she finished sobbing, she hugged the child for a long moment that the cameras caught in full.
Later, she tells us that she has now discovered her purpose in life, and the reason why she has never married. It is to use her voice to rescue the children of South Africa from the rural sex orgy spreading HIV among their parents.
Now, she reports from stage today, the government has agreed to supply drugs. She wants you to find the same joy in giving by doing something for these people, whose country has more people with AIDS than any other. You can contribute to her “Angel Network” which presumably will send more drugs.
Question: If the woman was not treated for AIDS, was she treated for anything else? The doctor told Oprah she was treated for her symptoms, but the response seemed to be only acquiescence to Oprah’s question in this regard. So evidently what was meant was any symptoms were alleviated as far as possible.
The mother subsequently died. If she died of TB, was she treated for TB, or not? Presumably not effectively. Why not? is there a shortage of antibiotics or whatever cures TB, or is African TB too lethal in poor people? It certainly is rampant in Africa, and a new strain is said to be causing new problems.
Bottom line: Does the diagnosis of supposed AIDS mean that they don’t bother to give a mother any antibiotics? Surely not.
But one suspects that this is a possibility. Once “AIDS” is the diagnosis, the assumption of everybody involved is that only Western drugs can save the patient.
Certainly this is the assumption of all viewers of this segment, which follows a repeat of Oprah’s “Buy Red with Bono” show a couple of weeks ago.
At this rate Dr Anthony Fauci is probably in love with Oprah, who has become the largest propaganda spokesman for the standard wisdom in AIDS short of WHO.

I saw a small segment of this show by accident, as I was channel-flipping. I didn’t know what was happening at first, but I had a feeling what the subject matter was going to be.
I saw her being driven around what looked to be a sprawling countryside. And before I even heard the word “AIDS”, I was wondering (if this was going to be a show about AIDS) how Oprah, or anybody else for that matter, can look at this countryside and the people there, and assume that people are getting sick and dying from something sexually-based. What must she assume about these peoples’ lifestyles? What must she think of the dying mother? It all just looks like racism.
In the short segment I watched, I just wondered…nobody’s sick and dying of any new disease. So what are they sick from, and is their illness (or illnesses) being treated? When they get the “AIDS” label slapped on them, are they pretty much given up on? So many questions.

Well said. Herein lies the mechanism with which the fantasy perpetrates itself globally. Oprah is not looking at reality, but reality through NIAID spectacles. Looking at anything at all that is happening, even say, global warming, through NIAID spectacles, labels that with an official sticker, “Caused by HIV”. Since Dr Anthony Fauci and his vast following have been wearing NIAID issue spectacles designed by himself for 20 years, no doubt if this short but well dressed authority figure is asked what causes global warming, he will have the answer: “HIV”.
But to the average mortal who does not wear such spectacles, the idea that the ravaged health of the country poor in South Africa and the rest of the subcontinent derives from their rampant unguarded sex lives is prima facie loony. However, even the propagandists recognize this. The mother had worked it out, evidently, since presumably she did not have an active sex live, telling Oprah (who perhaps did show a little puzzlement at that moment) she had got AIDS from tainted blood in the hospital, if we understood correctly, or was it dirty needles?
Dirty needles in African health care are the maverick but still mainstream Dr Gisselquist’s answer to the African AIDS puzzle, and presumably that and tattooing will become the official version in the final stage of self destruction of this paradigm, as Fauci, Gallo, Essex etc join Baltimore in retirement and their eventual death from cognitive dissonance.

Consumption, or tuburculosis, has been prevelant since antiqity and has killed more people than HIV by far, with South Africa having one of the highest incidence. Rifampin and Isoniazid are the two drugs used to combat TB, although drug resistant strains begin popping up in, you guessed it, the 1980s (source for all aforementioned: Wikipedia). The reason that TB is not seen as the scurge that it is (2 Billion people are infected, though most latently) over HIV is the supposed sexual transmission of the AIDS disease, although TB is transmtted by simply coughing on someone. Nothing instills fear and facination like adding sex to the mix My local hospital has a TB ward, although the AIDS ward is many years dismantled. I’m near the University of Texas Health Center, near to the esteemed Rebecca Culshaw at Tyler. If Oprah and Bono would focus on TB and malaria, of which deaths dwarf AIDS, we would make a dent in African diseases. The mainstream has tried to tie AIDS with malaria and TB, although malaria never was an AIDS defining disease, being spread by mosquitos, and TB not initially one of the syndrome’s growing roster of diseases.

Fifty percent of black South African children were dead by the age of five during the Apartheid era.
Dr. Sam Mhlongo gave me this statistic a couple of years ago, which he’s looked up in the Apartheid historical archives in Johannesburg.

People in beautiful, rural Otter Tail County, MN were getting sick? Lots of them. With all sorts of illnesses. Would we assume that the good folk of that county were engaging in lots and lots of carefree, condomless sex? Or would we look into other factors?

Oprah doesn’t care either way about HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis or even poverty. If she were she would part with her money in a heart beat but she can’t because she is no philantropist, just a bloated ego. I know this type of person very well. The entertainment industry is built on bloated egos and princesses are the one thing that makes my life as a director of photography UNBAREABLE. My word of advice to all is to NEVER follow an entertainer’s battle cry just like one should NEVER follow a general’s battle cry. Why? because you will find yourself alone at the barricades fighting for someone else’s EGO, one who is too CHICKEN to make ACTUAL PERSONAL SACRIFICES!

Going along with the mainstream view on HIV/AIDS is the easy thing to do and requires no courage. To take a politically unpopular/incorrect view on AIDS would probably damage (maybe even beyond repair) their very public reputations. If they secretly believed otherwise, they are hypocrites. But that shouldn’t surprise most who visit this site. Gay athletes (in sports other than figure skating or diving) rarely if ever come out while they are actively involved in their sports (usually team sports). It would be nice in a perfect world, but we’re just not that advanced yet – maybe in a couple of hundred years.

It sounds cynical, TS. Not at all, WR, you made the point in your comment that all thinking people would make. A rural sex orgy is the least likely activity of poor, underfed people struggling to survive in the countryside and townships of Africa.
Media should cover the small businesses of Africa and show Africans in action conquering their challenges. One of the best things of last year was a film someone made on exactly that topic which they took round this country showing it to businessmen and media and the State Department etc.
Africans were running clothing factories which had great African styling and colors and they had improved on Starbucks, among other things in the film, which was such a relief from the ignorant reporting that biases Americans against Africa, which is surely racist, we agree.
All people with a sense of adventure should get to Sao Tome a small Western island where they speak Portuguese and have discovered oil. You will make your fortune.
